Sunlite Bicycle Mount Child Carrier

Sunlite Bicycle Mount Child Carrier

I bought this bag (in black) from ebags in March 2009. At the time, I had a first generation kindle in an original cover which fit. The bag has slot pockets on both the front and back that have magnetic closures. I carry an 8.5 x 6 inch notebook in the back pocket and now leave a neoprene sleeve in the front pocket for my new K2us and it slips right in and out as I have the opportunities to read.

I keep two reusable bags for groceries in the front zipper pocket and my wallet, keys, calculator, pens, and other small items in the zippered organizer pocket behind that.

I have a fairly large (4.5 x 3 x 4) camera that I keep in the center compartment with my mp3 player, and other larger items. My cell phone is stashed in one of the end pockets while my thumb drive, hair clips, and chapstick are in the other.

The back has no pockets outside the straps which I prefer. It keeps the side carried next to the body smooth and avoids snags in clothing. The straps are a little short (arm clearance is about 9 inches) and non-adjustable which means if you put file folders in one of the slot pockets, you won't want to carry the bag on your shoulder as it would crumple the folders.

It stays upright when you set it on a table or counter.

I love the silver lining. My black items do not get lost inside the bag. It is showing some signs of wear, but I've used it every day since I received it. I plan to replace it with exactly the same bag since the 3rd generation kindle should also fit.

Worked Well For Me

Avenir Rear Road Bike Black

Avenir Rear Road Bike Black

I bought two of these racks and have used them for over a year. One for commute, the other for recreational rides. If you have brazed-on eyelets that use standard M5 threaded screws, then this thing installs pretty quickly. Just mount the extension bars on the top loosely, then attach the rack, first securing the lower legs near the rear dropouts to braze-ons, and then near the rear brake on those braze-on eyelets. Less than 10 minutes for each bike. And it looks pretty good too. Plus it considerably reduces road spray on the back when it rains.

So far, the rack has held up just fine. The welding provides the optical illusion that the rack is somehow not square. And it may be slightly off. I would have dinged this rack a star, but my $50 Blackburn racks were actually a bit off and I gave them 4 stars, so this has to be a 5 star because of price-performance.

For commuting, light touring, and light shopping, this rack works great. It seems to hold quite a bit of weight, being rated for 25 lbs. Some folks might need more, but considering those folks probably need a custom-built 40+ spoke touring wheel for that kind of abuse, well, those folks can spend the money. This rack isn't for them. But it is for most folks with standard metric M5 screw thread braze ons. I haven't installed a rack like this ever using seat stay clamps. I'd rather break out the oxy-acetylene torch and silver solder and braze-on some mounts before using clamping hardware. But that's just me.

Great for dog!

InStep Single Bicycle Trailer Green

InStep Single Bicycle Trailer Green

I bought 2 of these trailers because we have a 20lb dog and a 10 lb dog. My wife and I can each take a dog with us. I've taken the dogs out a few times in the months I've had it and so far so good. I have absolutely no complaints, but then again I'm not really using it as designed. I've only put one dog in at a time but am thinking about putting them both in eventually. The yboth seem to love the ride. Not only that, but you have to hear all the comments as you pass by. Just about everyone says "Aww" or "How Cute!" lol

Set up was easy enough on our 10 year old Toys R Us mountian bikes. I can honestly say I don't notice much a difference pedaling with or without the dog and trailer in tow. The trailer is about the same width as your bike so if your bike can fit somewhere, the trailer should follow. I just have 2 words of advice though.

1) The rear tire will kick up sand into the trailer so you need to keep the lid down.
2) Make sure you make your turns a but wider then you normally would. You're towing something so you need to be a little more careful.

Oh, I also have a full harness on my dogs and a leash wrapped around the rear bars of the trailer. I have the leash wrapped around the bars so the dogs don't have much slack. They have enough to go to the front of the trailer and lay down but not to actually jump out of it.
