This is a fantastic bike rack! I've owned it for a few years, and it has easily adjusted to accomodate every bike from my sons' tiny 16"-wheel first bikes up to full-size mountain bikes. It securely holds bikes with unconventional top bars w/o any special adapters, unlike the more typical carriers where the bikes "hang" from the carrier. It's well-made, and easy to install, easy to adjust, and easy to store. Another nice feature is the ability to quickly fold down the vertical bar so I can open the rear hatch of our SUV without having to remove the rack. The clevis pins have aircraft cable tethers so I never have to worry about losing them. Now that my daughter is learning to ride, I'll probably buy the 2-bike add-on extension. The fact it can be expanded is another huge plus! If it has any negative qualities, I can think of only one: you need to be careful when releasing and raising the vertical hooks ratchet adjusters or you can pinch your hand pretty bad. I quickly learned that you should always raise the upper hook first before raising the lower hook so your fingers won't get caught between them and make Daddy say some pretty naughty words while the kids are standing around waiting for their bikes to be unloaded.

Bike Bicycle Cycle Crank Puller

Located on one end of this tool is a socket that fits the crank arm nut...The other end fits inside the crank arm and there is a wrench to turn it located in the package. See the small photo...This is not the ONLY crank puller I own and NONE of my others came with a crank arm nut remover...In fact with my other puller I had to buy a socket wrench just to remove the crank nut BEFORE that puller would work...Not buying another tool to make this one work means this one is much cheaper since you can simply use it as it comes to you and it does the job..The black end screws completely off.. You MUST remove that inorderto slip the other tool upon the flat parts of the socket..The red handle wrench that comes with this has a hole in one end..Put that on the flat spots of the shiny part and screw the black part back onto the tool..NOW leave it that way and simply move the red handle wrench back and forth to which end you are using at the time. This is simple. It's not an expensive tool but it works well and is low in cost..Screw the black part in first with the center pin far enough out it will NOT hit on the end of the inner part of the crank. When you have the big black part FULLY inserted into the crank arm slowly screw the shiny part inside the black part..Once it's tight stop, using a rubber hammer or a hammer with a block of wood between the tool and the hammer bang it straight on pretty hard. Screw the shiny part in some more and if the crank does nt start to come off bang it again. Warning DO NOT bang hard NOR directly on the tool with a hard faced hammer or you WILL damage the tool..The idea of banging is to break the arm loose..This tool WILL pull hard and as you screw the inside part into the black part that puts pressure on the arm to release it. You may need to soak that arm in oil over night if a light tap don't work.. The ezip 1000 front and rear suspension is a definite plus as it makes typical road and sidewalk expansion joints un-noticeable. Even speed bumps can be taken sitting down if you slow your speed to a reasonable level. Quality is very good and the design is well thought-out. Safety is also very good and the brakes are excellent. I agree with the age restriction placed on this by the manufacturer as it is not a child's toy but a motorized bike (of sorts). Teens would have no difficulty with this and can use it for any type of travel that a bike would normally be used for (within a 6 mile radius). I would invest in a good lock however since the interest level is typically very high and I get numerous questions and comments when I ride it. I see this as a very practical and useful transportation device that is also very fun to use,I have found myself using it far more than I imagined. The scooter folds up easily so I am able to put it in my car and use it in a variety of places and on various terrains.....it runs great on sidewalks, concrete, grass, and dirt.and the scooter provides plenty of power and zip. Riding the scooter is very smooth and it's easy to steer thanks to the full suspension. Additionally, the scooter is very quiet,so please know if you buy this scooter you will be more then happy with it,you do not have to get the super turbo 800w.
I have this scooter for 4 months with no problem,the ezip 1000 its way way better stronger and very very comfterble ride more then any extreme scooters or ezip scooters,I am 140lb and i ride with the ezip 1000 16+MPH that really feel 20MPH,i ride with the scooter every day around 25 mile a day,and how do i do that-every 10 mile i charge it 2-3 hours no more and then again i ride 10 mile,and i charge it befor the battery starts being slow this way the charge is very fast,i really anjoy so much the ride ,I am telling you buy the ezip 1000 and you be relly happy with it you see,i ride with it with top speed of 17+MPH the ezip 1000 fill 20MPH you see, do your salf a favore buy this one or the super turbo 800w scooter and you be more then happy with them, the best of the best scooter highly highly racommend it...i bought also one for my friend that weights 252lb and the ezip 1000 takes him 15MPH with no problem...I bought from amazon and i got it in the next day thank you amazon

Nice little chain break

Topeak Super Bicycle Chain Tool

First i will admit i have never used a bicycle chain tool before but i have used a motorcycle one which is the same concept so im fairly mechanical. Never in my wildest dreams did i think it would be so easy. If anyone is afraid to do it fear not it is very very simple provided you still have your old chain to measure against your new one.

I purchased this based on reviews to replace a 15yr old chain on a Jeep mountain bike i bought at sears (yes i know its not a real bike but considering 15yrs later the tubes still hold air after never been replaced im ok with that). This tool is incredibly tiny. My first reaction was wow this will never push a pin out of a chain it is that small. Weight comparison it weighs as much or little as a garmin 500 computer (very very light). Quality after breaking old chain and sizing new chain seems very well made.

How to use:

First thing to do is to break the old chain off the bicycle. This is where the chain hook comes in very handy. If you loose it fear not you can make the same out of metal clothes hangers. Hook the chain hook anywhere on the chain preferably on the bottom so its easier to work with more room. Put the chain tool on the link and turn into it contacts the pin. I prefer to have it dead center on the pin even though there very small its fairly easy to do. Next step is to push the pin out. A smooth continuous motion with the hex key is best as it will give you a nice smooth effortless push. For this step if you are not reusing the chain its fine to push the pin all the way out.

Second step is to cut down your other chain. Same tool used for the process the exact same way. Measure the old chain vs the new one and de-link to size. If your chain is really worn then it will be slightly off, make sure you round off the new chain to the closest link SHORTEST to the end of the chain. Use the tool to push the pin out but this time be careful not to push the pin out all the way as its needed to put the chain back together. I pushed it thru until it started just getting difficult again then stopped and pulled the link apart. Although its not recommended you shouldn't reuse the pin you just pushed out slightly as it will have slightly deformed while pushing out. Best thing to do is to replace the pin. A drop of oil on it makes it much easier to go in. There fairly cheap to buy in a pack and are good to have. If you're using a masterlink make sure you have 2 INNER links so the masterlink fits, put it on the chain give it a quick yank will squeezing the link together and done. Don't forget to lube up the pins on the masterlink as well.

The chain tool looks fairly quality, was able to break a 15yr old chain and de-link a brand new KMC 7speed chain without any bending or breaking of the pin or links. Tool gets a 5 out of 5 as an initial review.

Another reason to buy this over cheaper single chain tools that only have one spot to break the chain is that you can also de-stress a link that has just been re-pinned if it feels very tight.

Pros: Affordable.
Quality.
Size.
Larger hex key can be used for leverage if needed.
The pin is removable it comes as the whole screw mechanism. I wasn't able to find one online except for a store in the UK. There about 4euros each so cheap replacement pin.

Cons: The chain hook is very sharp at the ends i would be careful keeping this in a multibag with a tube, do not keep this in your jersey pocket.
I can easily see myself losing this if i keep it somewhere and forget where it is, its really that small not really a con just a heads up.

P.S. Don't think of this as a shop tool that can be used heavily and roughly. Its made to use in a pinch or for the home mechanic who replaces chains a couple times a yr.

A Kid's Review

The goonies is a movie with a rag tag junkfood kinda group with a lot of humor but sometimes you have to give it a break [it was made in 1985]and stay with it.I loved this movie and watch it over and over again.Beware though this movie is funny but they say A LOT of cuss words and I mean A LOT.They also don't censor it [1 part but 2 if you get the uncut version].In this movie on the way they find out that greedy developers are making their family move and go into the main charecter Mikey's attic without permission and find a treasure map to a pirate One Eyed Willy's treasure and they also find a artical about a person named Chester Copperpot. Once they get to a certain place they find the Fettelli's [i think that's the right spelling] that are wanted by the police.Watch the Movie if you want to see if Mikey,Mouth,Data,Chunk,Brad,Stef,and Andy make it to One Eyed Willy's rich stuff and not have to move away from the Goon Docks.

I usually never write reviews, but I wanted to address some of things written by other customers here. First, the bike is not heavy. Some people make it seem like the bike can only be lifted by a weight lifter, but I am a tiny muscle-less 115lb girl, and I can lift the bike fine. Second, my bike came in a perfect condition and I didn't need to take it to a bike shop at all. That may vary according to where you live and how lucky you are, but I don't think that should deter you at all from purchasing this bike.

The folding of the bike takes maybe three seconds, as does the unfolding. It's really easy to store it in small places, like under a bed in my case. The seats go up high enough to be comfortable for my boyfriend who is extremely long leg-ed and 6'4''. It also goes short enough to accommodate an extremely short leg-ed 5'2'' person (me). The only major drawback I found in the bike is that the seat is very uncomfortable. It hurt to sit on the seat after a day of briefly riding, so I replaced it with a seat that is wider with more cushion and shock absorption.
The rack is also pretty useful, but I found that it is a little too slippery. My stuff kept slipping off even after tying them with a bungee cord.

With all this said, I can honestly say that I love this bike. I ride my bike in NYC, so before purchasing this bike I was a little worried about the safety, but so far (knock on wood) it has proved to be very sturdy. I also get many looks from bikers and non-bikers alike, and it makes me feel proud when I ride it around. It also doesn't hurt that this bike is better looking than all the bikes I've seen around. :) BUY THIS BIKE!
